What dont you understand @ZacDaMan72?

If you buy any tail light there will be wires and a plug in the cluster itself, these wires connect to the wires in the car. So at most there will possibly be an adaptor to fit in between these two harnesses. Savvi?

One of my bugbears is that over the years rear indicators have become smaller and smaller in VAG group cars. (My favourites were on my Golf Plus which had a very obvious rear indicator!) Now, they can often get masked by adjacent brake lights. I find the dynamic indicators to be much more visible, and so safer than the present small ones.

That does of course require drivers to actually use the things! (As they say, if you think your job is pointless, how would you like to be the guy who fits indicators on BMWs?)

I would like to understand why you're still wanting to argue about this - as far as I can see, everybody is on the same page of the wiring harness being different for the facelift, and the possibility of using an adapter. Are you wanting to argue for argumentative sakes, or to be a smartass?

We do understand your point, the disagreement is coming from the ability to power the dynamic indicators, i.e. the wiring from the vehicles body to the rear of the light cluster.

What is this disagreement? You literally repeated what I said about the wiring being different for the addition of indicator lighting on the inner taillights. When I say "a different wiring harness is needed for a proper retrofit", I am referring to how a car that came factory with such taillight clusters would be - with different wiring and not just an adapter. Of course us DIY-ers will just use an adapter then code the type/function/dimming of the light channel.

If there are dynamic LED's that extend onto the inner rear light cluster on the boot lid, then that will likely result in a change to the wiring as there are only feeds for tail, reverse and fog light functions currently.

Was this not my point? A different wiring harness.

So many posts, so many circles, so little progress.

ZacDaMan72 - "Wiring harness will be 100% different and will need to be coded".

BGB - Adaptor possibly required and coding.

silver1011 - Coding only.

Given the lack of substantiated evidence, let's just wait until the summer of 2021 and we can come back and waste another few hours of our lives.
