Fabia MK1 rear screen wiper no water flowing

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have a problem with my rear screen. There is no water coming out of the rear wiper however the wiper still starts to move when I flick the button on my steering wheel.

I can also hear the motor run however there is no water coming out the back.

There are no obvious leaks anywhere as I checked for that already.

Anyone know what it could be? And how to fix it?

Thanks.

Have a look at right hand side of engine bay make sure the pipe is connected below the top up tank had same thing and pipe was not connected :)

Hey, thanks for the advise,

Unfortunately I dont think it's going to be that simple 😞

That's your fuel pipe.

Clear plastic pipe clipped to the bulkhead behind the ABS pipework.

He did say "it won't be that simple"; if he can't tell a fuel line from a water line it certainly won't be! 😉

If there's nothing dropping to the ground, it'll be either that the outlet nozzle is completely blocked, or it'll be the connection just behind the trim by the nearside side rear seatbelt. Does the inside of the car smell of screenwash when you attempt to spray the rear screen?

Could you possibly show me a picture of it inside the engine bay? Thanks!

Is it this black pipe?

Nope. That's the battery box drain pipe.

I think I found it! Ok so at the front there little pipe was disconnected, I connected that.

Know I can see screen wash leaking at the back of the car.

Any ideas how to get to that?

After I  disassembled my car I found it!

The Pope was disconnected where the rear speaker is.

I managed to find it by taking the wheel off and the plastic trim along with the bumper and follow the pipe and found it disconnected there.

I put some white tape over it just incase so it dont come off again.

Thank you all for help.

An much better fix is to get some Halfords 5mm vacuum tube and cut the awful OEM washer pipe connectors off and use the rubber vacuum pipe to join the washer pipe together. I did this both at that rear one and the joint at the bulkhead. Never had a problem since. Halfords sell that pipe prepacked off the shelf...

Someone else also suggested using heat shrink sleeving over the OEM joints, which I quite like as well.

Zip ties work as well.
