Good evening,

 

I am quite a huge fan of the OPS display on the Columbus screen as my hearing is not very able to tell from which sensor set the sound comes and at what distance is the obstacle.

Lately, I can't figure out, the OPS display has disappeared from the columbus.

Auto parking works fine thus I think it is not a sensor problem

 

 

Any idea ?

 

Maybe this is linked to the adjustment I did with OBDEleven ?

OPS = Optical Parking System

What adjustment did you make?

On the head unit only activated the debug menu.

For the rest only standard adjustments (HHC, XDS, Tailegate no-beep, Tailegate open/close, 5 times comfort blink )

thus I don't get it.

The car still can park itself semi autonomously, thus I don't get it.

It used to work and now it does not anymore, out of sudden :-((

 

I suspect its the coding of the radio if the system still works to park the car.  Sounds like it is just the parking on the Columbus not being displayed It has pross been set to basic config by fiddling. Did you take a log with VCDS prior to changing the settings?

These diagnosis tools are good, but BE WARNED you can screw your car by changing something you are not used to, even in the dealers.

Looks like they are using OBDeleven rather than VCDS so I doubt there will be an autoscan or log prior to their changes.

 

I've never used OBDeleven, can it show the current coding for the headunit? If so, what is it

obdeleven keeps a change tracking list, you can look in there

And buy VCDS instead of the tool you currently use to remove random coding here and there.

Note: this should address the missing OPS display. If there's anything else which has been changed by mistake then that will also need attention.

In OBDEleven, if you go to a control unit even offline via "garage", you have Info, Faults, Long coding, Adaptation, and History.

History keeps the change tracking if done via OBDEleven.

Unfortunately did compare with the first dump of OBDEleven when I got the car, the only difference in the radio long coding was the 00 changed into a 08 and it used to work for some time.

Did revert to 00 today but no avail. I will try VCDS next week end , the time to get used to it.

 

Did you reboot the Columbus when the change was made?

I did switch off the engine and all the electronics a few times, but to no effect. And I can confirm that the long coding had been accepted by the Colombus.

Looks like Skoda dealership will have to take care of it when I will bring the car for general revision this October :-(

That means nothing except that you've done a scan and found some possible faults. A complete autoscan will be better, it gives all sorts of data which could point to the issue.

 

Edit: In fact, that looks like a Gateway Installation list. Take a look here, some pointers as to how to run an autoscan, then simply copy the text and paste it into your post on here (instead of submitting to Ross Tech).

That list suggests you may have a CANBUS fault, which could interfere with communication between the OPS controller and the Columbus unit. As rustynuts pointed out, a full autoscan is needed to figure out what is going on.

Following advice from a fellow Briskoda member, did enabled some of the modules in the 09 Module.

Find below module list and autoscan output.

I think there is also an issue with the windshield wiper motor as well as with the Webasto.

car fitted with panoramic sunroof, don't get the error message about the convertible.

Also have the tyre pressure monitor but there are 2 different modules, which one is the right one ?

Following the update on the module list, started the car and put it in reverse, no OPS display yet :-(

Well, that's a lot cleaner than the Gateway Installation list showed previously. Controller 9, no basic settings. That's a curiosity. I'd personally be looking at that and seiing if I could get that particular fault cleared by locating and trunning the Basic Settings it's complaining about.

Can you try going to address 09 (BCM) and uncheck byte 21, bit 7?

 

I don't think there is a description so there may not be a checkbox. If so, manually change it in the top box from ED to 6D.

 

It's just a suggestion based on an old scan you send me from OBDeleven. Everything else in byte 21 seems wiper related so it might help
