Kessy System

Featured Replies

Hi just a quick question

I have a kessy system on my koroq but does anyone know why you still have a key? as know where on the car can I find any key slots

It should be hidden under the passenger door handle.

Yes - you use the key to prise off the end bit of the plastic handle to reveal the lock..

See P283 of the manual.

'Emergency unlocking / locking of doors'

Moreover, in summer, with the key button you can open all windows on approach to the car. You can also temporarily disable KESSY, so that only the press on the key button will unlock the car in situations when KESSY security isn't strong enough.

The emergency key slot is on the driver’s door handle. You prise he cap off with your key....there is a slot. Underneath there is a standard keyhole.

Mine currently is in the dealership due to a flat battery

The battery was absolutely flat. I had not used the car for two weeks but nothing was left plugged in. Getting the bonnet open with the passenger door was challenging. The battery would not accept any charge....well made no difference to any power showing. AA were really quick...about 10 minutes. First attempt flattened their jump pack. The Transit power leads made no difference. In the end the AA man disconnected the battery and rebooted the car.  It then started straight away. Yesterday Kessy nor remote worked but this time the VAG support tech opened the car and it started straight away. Very odd.

I’m running about in a Fabia DSG....cracking car.

And talk about irony....I was on my way to a 50th anniversary party for my dealer.

How to deactivate the KESSY?

Lock the car with the key fob then touch the lock door sensor within 5 seconds and you'll need the key fob to open the car. Kessy is disabled

Yep, that's the temporary one-time approach for disabling KESSY. This isn't what the OP was asking about though....

This thread tries to answer the OP's question : "I have a kessy system on my koroq but does anyone know why you still have a key?"

Success; answered in posts 2, 3 & 4 :)

There is a key to use in an emergency to unlock the car. The barrel to insert said key is to be found under a plastic insert on the passenger door handle 👍

Well, my key can do more that that. :)

My emergency key barrel is on the Driver’s door handle not the passenger side.

I have had to use it twice. I first looked on the passenger side and there is no removal slot. Might be interesting for people to check if they are all the same.

Mine is a RHD 2019 car, built September 2018.

I've just checked and both my cars are on the driver's side - just like yours!

I still think it used to be on the passenger side but so as not to cause confusion, let's say it's under one of the front door handles as that should cover all (both) bases. ;)

Probably so they don't have to change the production process, regardless of whether the car is LHD or RHD :)

So we could say the passenger door on a LHD vehicle instead :D
