Meet Steve, my new car:P

Must be one of the slowest cars in the world (not for long though:D )

More like sailing a boat than driving a car. It's still good fun though.

I particularly like the baby poo paint.

8573.attach

8574.attach

looks in imaculate condition. but what is it?:o

God, that takes me back, she an 1100 or 1300:confused: ,my 1st car all of 25yrs ago was a 1300:thumbup: . You say the slowest thing around, but I showed a clean pair of heels to more than a few Mk1 & 2 Escorts and Hilman Hunters that my friends drove back then:rofl: . She does look in great nick:thumbup: , but cant agree with you about the colour:eek: . What you got planed for her?

I'm planning on fitting an MG Metro engine, board-out to 1380cc, sports exhaust and a webber(maybe, webbers can be a bit dear!)

I want to keep the body fairly standard looking - sleeper style.

I really wanted to fit a rover K-series engine, but i think it'd b too much headache, seems as how a metro engines a straight swap.

They're great!

It was my big brothers first car (admittedly older) with free views of the road through the floor! It meant the sick didn't stain the seats!

Love them, my parents had a D-reg Morris one when I arrived on the planet. Always had a soft spot for them ever since. I was so upset when they replaced it with a new Maxi in 72 or 73; I prefered the look of the 1300 GT in the showroom....

I wanted a GT.

But, you buy the best available or pay the HUGE resto costs.

I had the 1300 engine out of one of these put in my 850 Mini with a twin 2 1/2 SU Carb upgrade and the car went like stink.....until you wanted it to stop!! Never did get round to upgrading the brakes before I put into a tree near Harrogate!

Hi

Ive not seen one of them with the front wheels vertical for ages. What about Metro Turbo engine and gearbox? A series, straight in.

Chris

Hydrolastic suspension iirc aswell, awesome blamange!

Hydrolastic suspension is much maligned - they DO go round corners!

Prefer the Professor Plum colour myself - memories of 1975 when my Dad had one as a company car, complete with a tape of Ommadawn someone left in the tape player - it just went round and round in a loop for months, until it wore out! :D

Hydrolastic, good enough for the MGF ;)

I had a hyrdo MK1 Mini (never actually went otr though) and a MG Metro Turbo.

More like sailing a boat than driving a car.
 quality

cool, my dad had one until a carpi lauched it's self into the front of it.

Still would run and move even though the front end was at a slant.

how about a vauxhall c20xe on carbs? about 190hp

or a 1.6 vti honda.

Take it that you gave the rear subframe and floor a good check, allways were a potential disaster area!, ie RUST!:thumbdwn:

:D You got that right mate!

I wouldn't have had it if it was too rusty.

Had a MK1 years ago, i remember when the scrap man came to take it away- he picked it up with his crane and placed it ontop of another car.

The sills split wide open from one end of the car to the other!
