Help - rubber from underneath caught on speed bump

Featured Replies

Hi

Just back for day trip at Stratford

On way out of car park only going a few mph over speed bump with a metal thing after it , citigo grounded

Noticed that there is a missing rubber now from underneath rear of car

Any idea what they are called , part number , where I can get some please ?

Really only crept over speed bump .....

The front 2 rubber covers are in place , missing the rear 2 rubbers

Cheers Steve

Searched on ebay no joy any one recommend another online parts site , save going to local dealer

For something rubber like that it's probably better to get new rather than off a scrapper. I needed a couple of rubber door stoppers a few weeks ago and they cost a massive £1.10 each from my local dealer and were available the next day so they may not cost too much.

Yep looks like a trip to dealer

Bigger concern is lack of ground clearance even just rolling over speed bump , must have been the rolling metal security ramp that was the problem

Ordered some from dealer £1.20 each but not in till Friday

Ordered a couple of spares

Nice and cheap :)

This is probably no help but I have just swapped my wheels/tyres around and used these jacking points to place the axle stands. I noticed both front bungs were fitted but none were in place on either rear point. As these are quite a tight fit it makes me wonder if they are not fitted as standard to the rear?

Just a thought...

Thanks for your reply have ordered some already

Will have to take a look at other citigos

Really looks like there should be a gromit on front and back

Cheers Steve

One of these?

That you can't go back over once you've gone over them? Unfortunately the bottom of the car will get hit as they bounce back up, real pain in the ass, the rubber that has come off looks to be where the posts go from a ramp so easy enough to replace.

Yep that's the type

Will fit parts tomorrow

Just double checked a couple of Citigos at dealers one new and one used

Both don't have the rubber bungs on the rear point only on the front

So have not lost any , bottom of rear just must have caught

Funny thing I ordered 4 ( 2 as spares ) and don't need any :) at least only 4 quid got to laugh

Lessoned learned should have checked another car before ordering

Bit odd supplying something as a spare when they don't bother fitting it themselves in the first place when new. Does that make them optional extras rather than spares ;)

Very strange really looks like the rear should have rubber bung aswell

It looked machined the same way to accept rubber bung how strange ? unless Skoda wanted to save a few pence per vehicle
