I'm surprised how little extra BHP you got from your map Esseesse +15 is not a lot. I'm sure the torque pulls like a train though, my Saab 1.9TTiD 9-3 mapped to 450nm was a pleasure to drive and every journey at some point you had to use the thrust, it was addictive. That map got +35bhp and +50nm as a comparison.

It was a Re remap, ie standard car had circa 180bhp, went to 220 and now perfected at 235! Lucky b######....

Mark. It’s beautiful. Couldn’t say to much before because racingline asked me if I’d be happy to help them develop map for the car because they are starting to go into diesel now.. anyway got there at 9:30 and left at 4pm... THATS a custom map haha.

Went on rolling rd as it was. 220 and 480nm. That was the baseline. So deleted that and put stock map back on 189 and 400nm then spent rest of the day writing and developing a new map from scratch (so had a wander round the touring cars in the workshop) went out in their 515bhp golf r to buy lunch. Mother of god !!! FAST... !!! Wow.

Anyway came back offered them a tenner for the golf but they said no sadly.

So my map was written and the figures were 235bhp and 539.8nm. And obviously the gearbox map to take the torque. Ben then spent the next hour or so working on the eco mode part of the engine and gearbox map. So now. Eco runs as it did before with a bit more Hp BUT when you floor it. The figures jump to the sport map until you back off again then it settles back into eco. MIND BLOWN !!!

Sounds good, I'm jealous.....when Boris gets the bridge built I could drive across and get it done!!

Do you know if a manual will cope with all those torques?  Not sure how 2wd would or maybe the torque would be dialled back to suit.

It must be pretty quick now at motorway speed. Enjoy and let us know how fuel consumption fares once you have stopped drving it for smiles😁

Hahaha boris building bridges and trump building walls. Lol.

Manual wouldn’t take anymore than 500  on standard clutch I’d have thought. Also anymore than that in FWD would be a handful. My last Vrs was just under that and manual and it was spot on.

Have a look for a racingline dealer in Ireland mate. There maybe 1. All the dealers around the world read the cars data and link remotely to the guys at Milton Keynes and they write the maps and send them back so if there is one in Ireland they could do it. Yea it picks up its heels from 70 upwards and becomes very illegal very quickly.

im over in Ireland next month. Coming into Belfast and driving up to Letterkenny. You anywhere near that ?

Next trip to Belfast most likely December, not sure how long it will take to get there if borders return! I'll have a search and see who might be approved agents, possibly someone in Dublin
