Amundsen RNS310 issue

Featured Replies

Hi! I have a 2010 Superb station wagon with an original Amundsen RNS310 headunit. The Amunds player has worked just fine until this summer, but then stopped working, more or less. The first thing that happened was it didn't turn on, but had full backlight on the screen all the time, even when the ignition was off and the key was out. What is a bit strange is that if I take the fuse out and in it will work as normal until the next time I switch off the ignition for more than 5 minutes. Whether the engine runs or not when I take the fuse, to get it working, does not appear to affect the behavior. Gradually, this trick has become more unreliable, but it works occationally. I have picked out the headunit a couple of times and examined the wiring and connectors, but found nothing to indicate any problems.

Is there anyone who has experienced similar issues, or has input on what I may do/try? I do not want to give up on the Amunds player quite yet, especially since it works just fine when I get it going. However, it is very annoying having to get into the fuse box under the hood to maybe get the radio on. I called the local Skoda dealer, but they were not helpful.
