69 reg Kodiaq new spec .

Featured Replies

Hi just recently bought 69 plate Kodiaq on the new spec so I've been told,  now in all the other Kodiaqs they have door edge protectors on my car there isn't,  have they stopped doing it, I didnt ask salesman coz only found out when I got the car home .

Hi, recently took delivery of my 2020MY kodiaq on a 19 plate, was delivered 9th August which was one of the first 2020MY cars in the UK (dealer was very excited about it, me not so bothered 😴). Anyway mine has the door protectors. Have they just forgotten to put yours on? Is there a small slot in the door where they would be attached as they can be replaced if broken (there is a section in your car handbook showing how to do this). Is yours definitely a 2020MY? Have you got "skoda" written across the tailgate? Or just the Skoda badge. Not that it matters as yours should have them anyway.

A bit more information from Skoda UK on MY20 changes...

The following are the MY20 changes for the KODIAQ:

1. The 1.5TSI 150PS DSG 4x4 has been discontinued.
2. Race Blue metallic paint is now available.
3. Blind spot detection position and signalling has changed. Range has increased to 70 meters.
4. Spare wheel is now available
5. Direct tyre pressure monitoring system is available.
6. Colour multifuntion trip computer is standard on SE L and Scout.
7. Dynamic Chassis Control is also available on 4x2 drive trains.
8. A new 20 inch ignite alloy is available.
9. Seats with clima leather are available on the Scout.
10. Sport seats are not available on SE L and Edition.
11. Change of material for leather seats.
12. Removal of door edge protection as standard.
13. Ambient lighting activation.
14. New tailgate badge.
15. Sound actuator enhancement.
16. Coolant changing.
17. Engine cover will not have Skoda badge.
18. ISOFIX caps removed.

This in addition to the KESSY motion sensor on all Skoda keyfobs equipped with the system.

Seems edge protection is no longer standard. I recall seeing that it was standard on some of the higher trim levels?

Thought apare wheel had always been available as an option (unless there were restrictions on specific versions maybe?) and also my 2020MY sportline has door edge protection on it as standard. OP didn't say what trim level they had.

.

I got told that for MY20 door edge protection is no longer standard and you need to add the family / children’s pack to have it.

Yes, just looked at the UK August 19 price list and it’s only shown as part of the family pack. No big issue really. Glad they’ve added a colour trip computer to the SEL, bit cheapskate really not to. Again though not a show stopper.

Also the 1.5 TSI are now shown as EU6d TEMP EVAP (not EVAP) previously, so an emissions change has taken place, explains the disappearing 1.5 TSI

The EVAP part appears to be testing against evaporative emissions from the fuel system, I believe that there are ways of minimising / recovering these emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds.

Did you order the 'Family Pack'?

The only way to get door edge protection on a MY20 SportLine is by adding the £180 'family pack'...

Yes mine has the family pack. Didn't actually notice that the door edge protection had changed to an option for 20MY as part of the family pack. I went for the family pack (formerly children's pack 19MY when I ordered my vehicle) for the auto child/window locking and the window blinds. Door edge protection was not part of that option pack then. So I guess I've lucked out getting that on my car. It's a standing joke with my wife that she could open the car door in the middle of an empty 100 acre field and still manage to hit something.

Shame it doesn’t stop other people hitting your car, unless you park next to a Kodiaq, as long as its not a MY20 without family pack...

Yep can't even use the child friendly big parking spaces anymore as the kids are passed that age... Have you ever noticed no matter how far away from other cars you park, by time you come back some bugger has parked really close to you.

I’ve done this topic elsewhere, must be some law of (human) nature or other, happened to me twice today, no damage done though. I still get concerned by it even though I’ve got a brilliant PDR guy.

On a positive note I’ve been seeing some newer car parks marked out with dual lines so you can actually get in and out of the car (common in US) What will they think of next?

PS enjoy the new car, I’m still really happy with my SEL 190 TSI after 6 months and 9k miles.

PPS If I had a wish list for the Kodiaq it would be a Plug in Hybrid with a useful range.

I've just pick up my 69 plate Kodiaq SE L standard spec no options , mine aso doesn't have the door edge protection, although reading on the web they can be problematic,  although the door protectors weren't there , when we ordered the car we were told only rear parking  sensensors , manual tail, and manual seats

what we found when we pickup our Kodiaq it had front parking sensors, electronic tail gate and front heated manual seats,  wd were told when we placed the order that front parking sensors, eletronic tail gate and heated seats were option and not standard

So we can live witnout the edge protectors considering the other s called (option) came as standard.

This is my first Skoda, previously was vauxhall man last car wasan insignia elite.

So no experience on finding my way through all the features and options available.

Does anyond know how I can get a full list of what features I actually have on my Kodiaq, is there any hidden menus that will allow me to see what my Kodiaq actually what features I have.

Unfortunately the sales guy pointed me to the website which isn't much help, and according to the website. Front sensors and electronic tailgate are not listed as standardard equipment I'm just curious what other features we might have acquired that are obvious at first glance

Any help with finding out what I actually have installed would be appreciated . The dealer seems a bit clueless

Those items you mention are standard spec for 2020MY (mid July 2019 onwards).

I presume you ordered your kodiaq before then?

You can download the lastest pricing and specification from the brochure section on skoda website which should mostly confirm what you should or should not have on your bear.

Thanks Kenny R and Gmac 983

Actually ordered it first week Sept, we did ask about front sensors, heated seats and Tailgate was also told that some of driver aids were optional extras ,when first looking at the kodiaq and searching the web it wasn't clear what standard features SE L came with

After deciding to buy the sales guy did a search for what if anything was available right away or we had option of ordering it from factory.

Since we were looking for a Kodiaq SE L  and it was the colour we wanted we decided not having electric tailgate and heated seats was something we could live without

Any way thanks for the spec guys, I can now look and see what we actually got

Not disappointed with the car, just need to get to grips setting screens,

Got a few features my over my 16 insignia which are handy, like auto handbrake when stoped at junctions or in traffic

Only nagging thing is the parking sensors, not really confident as they don't seem to detect posts or bollards, I'm not sure if there's a setting some where to increase sensitivity / range,

also handbrake coming on when reverse parking very slowly

But only had the car 3 days so still learning the features

The electric tailgate has always been standard on SEL.

The kick activated opening has always been extra.

And remember the (excellent) auto “handbrake” keeps the brake lamps on to blind the driver behind.

I’m engaging the “handbrake” switch more and more these days when in traffic.

In my Octavia, there is a build sticker under the boot carpert with the full spec of the car. There is a post somewhere in the Octavia 3 forum with all of the codes that allows you to decipher what is actually on your car.

Checked back and the links to the decoder arte below

http://igorweb.org/decoder/howto.html is the link to the instructions for the decoder for the boot label codes.

Thanks for the hint will check in the boot area tomorrow

It's just good to know what you actually have, not what you think you have

I just picked up my new MY2020 Kodiaq Scout this week, and guess what?  No door edge protectors.  Not too bothered, but the website description shows it has the them (and not as an option).  Will follow up with the dealer just to check.  Interestingly,  it did come with two umbrella's (the spec now says you now only get one).

Did you add the 'Family Pack'? This is the only way to get door edge protection on any MY20 Kodiaq...
