Tyre recommendation

Recommended Posts

Normally, I'd fit my winter tyres about now, but as I was needing to replace my Continentals, so I decided to fit Lassa All Season (Turkish Bridgestone, I believe) tyres after some recommendations from friends.

Just fitted fronts for the moment as the rears still have about 6mm of tread left.

It'll be interesting to see how the Lassas work out - knowing my luck, this will be the first winter for years we actually get heavy snow!

Car feels much more premium now on Pilot Sport 4 S all round. However seem economy noticeable poorer - anyone else found this ?

I get a new pair of PS4S's every 7k miles or so hence, the tyres costs are nearly as high as the fuel costs but, if it makes you feel any better here's my 25k mile avg. fuel figures from tank to tank fills, no on-board computer BS here

There will be more rolling resistance as they are grippier so will lose economy. That being said I would make sure they have been inflated to the correct pressures as I never trust garage gauges

Best tyre for 7.5J x 19" Extremes for summer use is probably Michelin PS4S in 235/35R19 with pressues set to 2.7bar from personal experience.

2.7bar is a comfort setting, it's also a bit sloppy on turn-in, I run at 3bar raising a little further in the summer, keeps the rims away from those pothole edges

My wife doesn't drive your car and one wheel is a write off with more than a bit of kerb rash. Decision time in the spring either get a replacement or new set of 19" alloys.
