Errors, errors everywhere!

Featured Replies

From a stop-start problem, I now have multiple problems. The maxidot briefly shows about six diverse problems, which then clear and everything is fine for the rest of the day. The computer diagnosis show dozens of errors. I'm feeling this might be a loose connection somewhere on one of the databases, but my background is IT,  from the days where you built your computer.

Any help much appreciated as this has happened right when little Ffyon the puppy has just joined me and I can't afford huge bills for trying stuff out (New battery has already cost £183). Although I could sell the puppy, I suppose (only joking).

I'll let the photos do the talking as too much to type. More images available, but it thinks I've exceeded my limit. 20190918_133100_compress80.thumb.jpg.2b2d919cc495577bbaeb00746c579a20.jpg20190918_133100_compress80.thumb.jpg.2b2d919cc495577bbaeb00746c579a20.jpg

Have you checked connections on the new battery?

Is the alternator charging properly?

You also might want to try a different fault scanner, that appears to think you've got a MK2?

VCDS with a modern interface (hex-v2 or hex-net) will also show more information about the missing messages which might give extra clues.

Did you code the battery management system after swapping the battery?

Rob, the mechanic, wondered if it wasn't giving the full story. I guess I'll have to take it to a specialist.

So far as I know, Rob did.

No sign of a problem with the new battery.
