Amundsen 3G symbol with 4G Carstick

Featured Replies

Hi!

I bought Skoda 4G Carstick (that black one) but my navigation shows 3G symbol all the time(see picture). Car is new Skoda Combi G-Tec with Amundsen navigation. I can't find any setup to change it to 4G mode. Data transfering is only 2mbit/s with wlan. Is it possible that navigation software is old while car is new one.

Thanks for your help.

I don't have the internet connection on mine. Any one know how to get it working at all?

That optional Skoda Carstick (product no 000051409F) works fine all the time but connection is only 3G with slow connection. Carstick itself is 4G LTE and sim inside it is 4G too...

I’m interested in this.

trying to decide if

1) to purchase the original Skoda carstick

2) try to find the own one ( I don’t believe anybody designed a special single for Skoda, it has to be some commercial one rebranded)

3) purchase a WiFi hotspot and have the car connect to it, leave it connected all the time on the glovebox.

this option (cheapest) would have some issues like for example having to turn it on each time I start the car... maybe having to connect from the navigation screen each time...)

Item 3.. mine is an old Android phone with tethering perm enabled. Lives in the boot plugged into 12v socket with usb adaptor plugged in. Infotainment auto connects with ignition on.

Question, when the car is off, the phone battery runs out, phone dies and... you have to turn it on manually?

thabks!

I have the same problem, the stick says 4G, the SIM-card is 4G but my Amundsen says 3G-connection. Really weird.

I shouldn’t worry as I’ve also had no white globe display on my S3 Columbus and the data connection worked perfectly well! It more often shows 3G than 4G now too - even for the same locations.....

Just wait until 5G. 🙄
