Dash change facelift double din fascia?

Featured Replies

I’m putting a Sony double din head unit in my 02 and looking to buy the fascia and cage but they all say MK1 03+

Does anyone know if this is a mistake or are there differences after 03 that mean these won’t fit? Could find anything searching around.

It'll be fine as long as it's for a Mark 1.

Update -- I got this kit, but didn't need the cage or anything in the kit except for the larger plastic surround, which didn't fit into the Skoda holes so I had to cut the clips off. The cage the stereo (Sony XAV-AX1000) came with fit perfectly, if a bit snug which worked well to hold the surround in place, cage clicked into place, had to swap permanent and accessory wires (red/yellow), but all works/fits perfectly.

looking now at it you'd be better buying this if you don't need the other stuff half the price and looks like clips are in the right place:

In that piccie, the double DIN one appears to be upside down.

It is yeah!

I've got the bottom adaptor in mine, however the clips on the right-hand side were completely wrong and needed snapping off.

Weird so none of them got it right. What year is yours?

Hi,

Hope you're well.

Soon I was planning on picking up the XAV-AX100 rather than the XAV-AX1000, The size of the XAV-AX100 is 178×100×161.5mm, compared to the XAV-AX1000 which is 178x100x141mm, do you reckon that the extra 20.5mm will make it not fit?

Just making sure before I actually buy :)

Many thanks,

Feel bad that you've had no answers so far but personally I don't know

Personally I'd grab a steel rule and check for myself before ordering.

I have an autoleads DFP-20-02 fascia adapter. It does the job, but the fit isn't great, I probably wouldn't buy another one.

Theres a fair bit of space behind the radio, so the extra depth shouldn't cause an issue.

Yeee nothing to worry about. It's my first installation of a double din radio, into any car so just a tad bit worried.

I went for the XAV-AX1000 instead due to it having a tiny bit smaller depth, (best being a tad bit smaller than a bit bigger than needed)

@alff if you're still active on the boards, did you have to buy any harness adaptors or ariel adaptors?

I've seen from your post above that you literally just needed the large plastic surround and that was it with the AX1000, just wanna make sure so when I get it, can get it all done at once.

Or if anyone else can answer the question that'd be grand :)
