OBDEleven iOS

Featured Replies

I’d like to give this whole OBDEleven thing a go. But I have a few questions that I’m hoping someone can answer:

- what sort of things can I actually enable/alter on my car (2017 fl vRS). Is it able to add things like sign recognition, high beam assist etc?

- Has any body got any experience using the iOS version?

- is it worth paying the extra for pro and what’s the difference? Pro is currently €99 for “next gen device” and 400 credits (not sure what they’re for)

starter pack €69 for ”next gen device” and 200 credits

- how easy is it to use, I like to think I’m pretty technically minded but is it fairly straight forward to use and make changes?

1.  In terms of making changes you can do pretty much everything VCDS can do (have a nosey in the sticky threads).  I won’t clutter this post listing them all.

2.  No experience of the iOS version. I read it had been constantly delayed though?  Android for me. Android devices can be picked up for pennies.

3.  Yes, get pro. It allows you to make long coding changes. It may also allow you to manually make adaptations as well and not have to rely on ‘apps’. I’d wait for confirmation on that last part though.

4.  Yeah, it’s easy to use. So long as you use your brain, follow established and verified guides and if even suggest doing ‘dry runs’ first. Check you can find all the sections that need changes before steaming ahead and finding out half way though you can find something.

I am very much in the apple camp in terms of devices owned, but that was another option of buying a cheap android device soley for the purpose of OBDEleven. Obviously iOS would be easier and cheaper, but if android works better then it's worth it I guess.

Nice that they bring the functionality to IOS, but will take some time before a fully working app.

Until then I recommend the Android version.

WIll definitely buy the new version, when IOS will be working fully.

The new hardware is available now, and there's some Black Friday offers on it today.
IOS functionality is *very* limited at the moment by the looks of things, but I'm sure they'll develop it up to the same functionality as the Android app over time

Oh and if you buy the new hardware, it works with both Android and IOS

BLACK FRIDAY:

Next generation OBDeleven ULTIMATE pack
WAS 174.98€ (product value with double credits) NOW 99.99€

Ultimate pack for the same price as the Pro pack for today only.

Their communication was dire during the development of their NextGen device. They are being very non-committal about the iOS side of things, just saying "next year".

Sorry to revive a dead post, but since the original post has anybody got any experience using the iOS version of OBDeleven? With all the downtime i find myself with at the moment it would be nice to do a bit of tinkering.

As I originally said, I don't want to do loads, just mainly simple things activating hidden features like traffic sign recognition and high beam assist etc.

If it can do things like that then obviously ios version would be a lot easier and cheaper than me having to buy an android device just to use for this purpose.

Thanks in advance.

Hi. I have purchased updated version of dongle that works with iOS. You can use credits to do simple tweaks using their "Apps" and you can of course scan the car for codes, monitor various parts of the systems etc.

Works pretty good, never had an issue with it.

Regarding Pro mode, I used to see "Coming soon" labels on certain buttons like "Adaptation" and "Long coding", but in last version buttons fully work. I cannot access it fully as I do not have pro license, but it seems it is available.

Thanks Tivan,

I’d probably get the pro version just to future proof so assume those extra options will work. But even without, looking on their site their “apps” cover most things I want to do anyway.

My main concern was that it didn’t work properly as only a beta but sounds like it works fine.
