Just fitted new 205 55 16s all round on my rooms, original was 205 45 16 which were too racey for me.

 

speedo is now exactly the same as the GPS indicated speed but i guess this will throw out the trip and odo etc.

 

I have access to VAG com, is there a setting i can adjust?

That is a big difference.

Try and see by using the GPS and driving the car a mile. 10 miles or 100 miles.

The difference will be between Ooo and Ahaa.

 

Wow that’s a 40mm increase in diameter. Are 205x 55 a Skoda approved size.? Your speedometer will now read 6.5% lower than with the 205x45’s.

And have you informed your insurance company of the change?

Are you in the UK?   Do you have any understanding of Insurance in the UK?

 

You can fit bigger wheels, smaller wheels, bigger tyres than to OEM in the UK, many do, you get Monster Trucks, lifted 4x4's, even Emergency Services & UK Police Vehicles might have tyres bigger than OEM, but then that modifications need declared and accepted.
