Low washer fluid warning

Featured Replies

I know I should read the manual :soapbox: but...

... is there a warning light on the Tavia vRS to indicate when the washer fluid is low? I thought there was and then ran out today!

Thanks

Steve

The quick answer is no, there isn't :(

It amazes me that there is a washer warning light on the Furby vrs but not the octy and also that there isn't a boot unlock button on the octy vrs key.

Then again perhaps I am just too easily amazed.

only available with vehicles with headlight washers and a 5ltr screenwash bottle.

Damn, wish I'd bought an estate then ;) :p

Who needs a washer bottle warning light anyway? Or are some members the type who rely on the oil warning light to tell them when the oil is low too ??

As for boot unlocking on the octy vRS, 3 presses of the door unlock button seems to do the trick for me ;)

We wait for our engines to go bang :D

Post on Scoobynet about our engines going bang and then whinge at International Motors for not telling us engines need oil.

Seriously I had an oil pressure guage in my scoob and always check my oil at least once a fortnight ;)

Or even the plain, bog-standard Elegance!

(but mine has automatic transmission, so there! Nyah-nya-nya-nya-nyah :p )

The 5l water bottle doesn't alway have the lower fluid level. There are 2 different bottles, one with space for the sensor the other without.

Oh and some RSs have 5L washer bottles :p

Hmm. Yes. And it has a bit of a mind of its own. I don't know how the sensor works but it has a tendancy to go off and on at random when you are getting low on fluid. And the annoying beeeeeeeeeeeeep.

I think the problem is caused by the water sloshing about in the reservoir. There's no (or very little) delay in the warning, so it comes and goes.
