Hello, I thought it's time to join up🤔 I have searched the forums a few times to keep my runabout on the road with some great success such as cooling fan issues and changing clutch pedals! Oh the runabout, she's a Y plate Octavia 4x4 turbo that I've a for a coupe of years. I picked it up for a grand with 75k on the clock and we have worked her hard and she is just shy of 140k now. The worst problem was a muntjac deer go underneath doing untold damage to suspension, charge coolers, rad cowlings brackets you name it I bent it 😭 now I have to apply for some help, in the appropriate place of course.............

Greetings Duane 👋

Wow bet that was traumatic (clean undies)&expensive fix.

A warm welcome to the Forum !  We have lots of wild deer in this area and I'm always on the look out but they tend to appear out of nowhere.  My wife was involved in one such incident, being animal lovers she took it to the local vet who looked after it for a few days and then released it back to a deer park.

Hi chaps, fortunately for me the deer was hit by the offside headlight about where the towing eye is, possibly the strongest bit of the front so it didn't do much visible damage, unfortunately for the deer it went completely under the car, that was an odd feeling, then got hit by a BMW that was tail-gating me. reckon it was dead. It was pretty scary as we weren't hanging around and the daft thing had walked across the road only to turn round at the point I couldn't swerve as we were on a bend or I would have possibly rolled the car. I had a colleague in the car who isn't a good passenger at the best of times, he was a bit shaken

Similar problem here with pheasants.  They dither at the side of the road, you slow down, they start crossing and just when you think it's clear, they turn round, run back and clump.  Fortunately they don't usually do any damage but unfortunately for them they lose their lives😢
