Is a steering angle mod on the S2 possible?

Featured Replies

Chrisfix did a steering angle mod on his car, see video below.

Is the same possible on the S2?

Dare I ask why you want to increase the amount of steering lock and the chance of your tyres rubbing?

That being said, you'd need to have a look inside a steering rack to see if it uses similar spaces or not. It's not a mod I've come across but someone may have tried it on a MK5/MK6 which should be pretty similar.

I am sure someone on here tried adjusting settings on vcds for Passat sport and knackered up his steering😕

Well, it is a truck. It steers like a truck.

But a truck having a turning circle like zero would be cool.

No that cannot be achieved easily, but getting a tighter circle would be nice.

Really?

Is there guide how this was done?

(Or how to not do?)

But it was not flashing another file for the steering assist, which could give different characteristics but not turning circle? Usually ends in no power steer at all...

It's a long car with a long wheelbase, the turning circle is going to be a bit limited. I've never found it that much of a problem, certainly not enough to consider major mechanic modifications like modifying the steering rack.

Before getting a S II I had a V70 II and that did have a bad turning circle. It was 12.5 m, while the S II has 11.0m or there abouts. The V70 needed 5 turns for any 3 point turn and multistorey car parks were a nightmare. And all that was caused by Volvo's desire to put fat tyres on. In order to achieve the looks they limited functionality. There was a way round it though as in the clip attached and it worked. But I would describe the S II as pretty easy to steer and it does not really need this modification.

If you change your lock limiters - if they are there- put a write up on here.
