Very bad luck

Featured Replies

Hello, I have received my new Superb Sportline 1.5 tsi DSG on January 11, 2020. Last Thursday, Jan 23, my car shows an engine problem. Two exactly:

- Start-Stop failure

- Engine problem, revs limited to 1200 rpm. Also, the EPC light on.

Engine starts, but without power, I can not pull the car out of the garage, engine without power to climb the ramp. I've called my dealer, and he came with his mechanic, connected the car to his laptop, and he was unable to fix it. He told me maybe a problem with the butterfly valve. So they take my car to repair.

I'm very dissapointed, less than two weeks, and first problem... I hope they fix it soon, and no more problems, but I'm very afraid more problems can arise...

And very dissapointed also with Skoda-connect. The report about car status states no problems at all!!!

Regards.

After first two years I've adapted and frequency of service visits decreased last year too

Today I've called my Dealer to ask about how is going the repair. They've told me that they have ordered a new piece, but they don't have it still dispatched. They think that the situation is not normal, and that maybe a general problem with that part and maybe Skoda is doing some testing to avoid new failures. Maybe next week...

So, my car will be more time under repair than with me... My first Skoda, and 99.999% probability my last Skoda...

That is such a shame. Sorry to hear about your car. I'm not sure about the law in Spain, but in the UK this would be a clear case for rejecting the car. I certainly would if that was me.

As far as I know, Spanish law is different. Not so easy. I would need to require a lawyer and go to judge. But I do not discard it if this sitation doesn't get resolved soon.

So much for uniformity across EU nations

In the UK you simply return the car to the supplying dealer within 30 days of purchase and get a full refund as the product is clearly not suitable for the purpose it was designed to do. This is a manufacturer quality issue and if Skoda fight you then good riddance we are leaving the EU this Friday if British Consumer Law is so much higher developed and to be honest better than European Law. Complete joke on a brand new car and they should be bending over to please you not bending you over the desk instead.

my last VAG car and my last ICE car.
