So I have just taken delivery of a BRAND NEW 2020 Kodiak Style with the Columbus Infortainment system onboard. I have opted for the Virtual Cockpit option and its great, however I have no option to select the AM option on my radio. FM and DAB are there , but no AM. Have Skoda removed this ? or do I need to enable something ?

I can't even remember the last time I even listened to an am broadcast, certainly not while I've been driving which has been over 17 years now. But seems daft that it would be left out of a receiver while am is still being used for broadcasting. 

Definately got DAB, FM & AM on my 2019 Kodi, based in UK

I don`t have AM on my 2019 Kodi.

Not sure, but I think I read somewhere  that AM is disabled just by software. Not sure though.

I have FM/DAB on my 2020 Kodiaq. No one broadcast on the AM band here in .se.

Both our 2018 and 2017 Bears have AM,FM and DAB. Must be something on the 2020 models?

Doesn't the button need pressing multiple times to access each band?

You press the button and popup bands list appear. If not listed it`s not there.

I have an my20 car built in September and I just checked, it has AM.

OP where are you based? maybe it's a location thing? I'm  in UK & have am, maybe those who have posted should put there location.

He's in Ireland.

I'm sure showing it in the infotainment system or not is buried somewhere in the options menu. I managed to turn it off on mine as I haven't listened to anything am since the '90's....

No, it`s not. Even not in the hidden menu. Haven`t tried VCDS yet.

Finally found some hints:

Disable AM Band - Address 5F (Information Electr), Byte 14, bit 1 set to ON

 

So to enable use reverse coding.

So how do I get into the hidden menu ?

Press MENU button for several seconds.

But it`s not in the hidden menu. You have to use VCDS to recode the module.

Ring your dealer up, I'm sure they'd be happy to enable it for you.
