Manual for a 2006 Estate

Featured Replies

Any idea where I can find the manual for a 2006 Estate? I've tried https://www.skoda-auto.com/services/owners-manuals but that only has manuals for older models

First time owner of a Fabia here :)

You do realise you've posted in the Octavia Mk II section!

I did, didn't I 🤦‍♂️

Not my finest moment, sorry about that!

Do you want Fabia or Octavia ? My screen says your Q has appeared under Octys. I keep nearly posting (& did once) in Superbs as I used to run one.

Assuming it's for a Fabia, are you looking for an owner's or workshop manual?

It's the Fabia 2006 Estate that I have.

And looking for the owner's manual primarily (in Denmark and the car came with the Danish manual) but the workshop manual could be handy too

Thanks for that. Any idea where I can find the owner's manual?

Great, thanks. Would the Estate use the same manual? Also, is there a more comprehensive version of said manual? I've got a boot that won't open and can't find anything in the manual on the emergency release

I have a 2006 Octavia Estate that had the original manual with it ... it covers both body shapes, so I assume, your 2006 Fabia Estate will be the same.

As to the boot release I've no idea ... try searching the threads for tailgate release, I vaguely remember reading something similar to your issue - it may be under a different model, but the theory is most likely similar.

Good Luck - I'm all out :)

If your boot won't open it's most likely to be the solenoid, try pushing the tailgate down while pressing the button you should hear a quiet click, I sometimes have to press mine a number of times before it actually releases.

sep- do all levels have the Comfort lever on the driver sill ?

Nope, only the early cars had that, fuel flap release only on the later cars.

No dice, the button is completely dead. I have to open the boot by crawling in through the back seat area which is actually quite hilarious. My model must be one of the later ones you describe as I only have the fuel flap release next to the drivers seat.

I'll take it to the mechanics tomorrow, thinking it could be the same problem as in this video:

That's a MK2 and it's different. The MK1 lock is activated by a mechanism which pushes on the orange lever on the lock. The mechanism is mounted to the body not the tailgate.

Mechanism pushes on this...

Lock servo motor looks like this...

Yup, that's what I have... albeit not so clean

Got this car two weeks ago so still getting the hand of things. The rubber cover (behind which I assume the servo motor is) is in a pretty bad state, so I'm guessing water could have entered and damaged the motor:

Any idea of part numbers if I was to order the cover and servo motor?

Those are the correct part numbers but the servo motor is not behind that cover, it is on the boot floor. It all needs testing out to find out if power is reaching the motor before you spend money on one.

Servo motor in here....

Ok thanks. This is turning out to be a little above my paygrade, so I'll have a mechanic have a look at it

Have you tried opening the rear left door? Both mine and my wife's old fabia sometimes the boot wouldn't open unless you open the rear left door, weird problem they both shared.

That's a sign that the microswitch has failed/is failing in on the drivers door lock unit. Any other door with a working microswitch will work if opened before trying to open the boot.

I have the 2006 Fabia Estate. I had the same problem with the boot not opening. I replaced the button and it works since. Got it on eBay.
