Dash cam problem

Featured Replies

I have experienced problems with an Aguri DX 1000 dash-cam. It often takes a mile or so to even start and sometimes the speed on the dash-cam fluctuates with my cars speedo.

Aguri have examined both units that I have returned to them and not found any problems with either of them.  Have any members, driving a Superb and using this model of dash-cam, experienced any problems?

Hi,

could be if you have a heated screen it is blocking the GPS signal to the camera.

Interesting comment. The only problem is that the unit worked fine for some time but then started to develop the faults as described. Thank you for your reply.

Another thought; did anything change between the time it worked and when it started having problems?  For example, where you had it mounted, the type of mounting, cable and also whether you started to use anything else that might have affected the signal - bluetooth adapter, fm retransmitter?

Alas, no. I have had problems with two separate dash-cams. The first was powered via the cigarette lighter with my '17 plate Superb. The second is hard wire connected and is with my L&K Superb [only 4 months old]. Both units ran successfully for a period of time before developing faults. So, no external goodies to interfere with the signal. Thank you for your comments.

As a final check before attaching the device to a brick for aerial return to the seller can you try it out in another car?

Good idea. The only problem is that both units gave good service for quite a few weeks before they developed their faults. Also, both units are back at Aguri, so I'm rather in their hands. I have suggested that they lend me a slightly better unit that may be an ex-demo, then I can see if there is any difference between the Dx 1000 and the DX 2000. I'm still waiting for Aguri to reply. Meanwhile, I'll go out and find a  suitable brick!
