Minor Cosmetic Bubble in Vinyl Trim Piece

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this minor trim defect. It's at the top of the Estate tailgate and looks like a trim piece that's had vinyl applied to it rather than paint.

It's not a big deal at all, but if it was easy to fix then I'd give it a go.

Can't see how the trim piece is attached - no visible fixings inside or out.

I think they have just left the protective cover on from new, just peel them off. My car is white and those parts are gloss black.
I suspect the dealer forgot to remove them.

Really !! I never even thought of that. It does make sense - the vinyl does look a bit cheap and nasty.

Like this white transit cover on Gloss Black Plastic.

Yes it will look much better with it removed

Yep - it was the just the protective vinyl covering !

It was just because the car was white that I thought it was meant to be that colour too.

Problem solved ! Thanks guys

I thought that looked pretty good ! If my car was white I think I may be looking to do a proper job 🙂

If all problems could be that simple to solve... 😁;)

So now check the rest of the car.

Have you reset the Tyre Pressures and the TPMS?  Best check wheel bolt tightness, bolt covers all there etc etc.

PDI must have been a bit rushed then any checking of the 'valeter / fitter / cleaners' work maybe not done...
