Need advise on gear change indicator on dashboard display

Featured Replies

Hi

The gear change indicator on dashboard display D1,D2 and up to D7 started flashing. It starts flashing once I've been driving for a 1km or 2. It changes gears no issue there. Just wondering if anyone had the same problem and if anyone would know why it's started flashing? My Skoda is 2010 model.

Thank you in advance

You need to get the car to a garage, or a private individual with access to a fault code reader that plugs into the car and allows you to download any faults that are logged and stored on the cars ECU. Where in the world are you based, your profile doesn't tell us?

Please also consider updating your profile with your car details, engine etc. I can see you mentioned it is a 2010 model year. This allows us to determine which version of the DSG gearbox is fitted to your Superb.

What is the cars current mileage?

The solution to your problem will depend on the fault codes, but unfortunately the flashing gears on the central display is rarely an easy or cheap fix, and more often than not suggests a faulty mechatronics unit...

The manual is a little vague, but if your gearbox isn't already in 'emergency programme mode', then it probably soon will be...

Hi

Thanx for your reply. I have a Skoda Superb 2010 with 1.8 engine. It's done 142000km. I'm located in Melbourne Australia. I kept an eye on it today and it started flashing after driving for about 4-5km. It runs normally and changes gears as well.

I had the car for 2 years and haven't had this issue up until recently.
