Skoda Superb ABS light, TCS light and Brake system light went on

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Superb mk II, my ABS light, TCS light and Brake system light went on, the brakes are working fine I don't know what it is, any idea or suggestions that what it might be?

I had Abs light on, pic of steering wheel, tyre pressure and another

fault came back right rear abs fault, so I got a new sensor and broke the old one getting it out so ended up stripping the brakes off etc so I could knock it out. That’s when I found the hub Abs thingy had fell apart 😤 so most likely had been hub in 1st place and not sensor

Had a similar occurrence on my Mk2. The shield behind the OSR brake disk had rusted, become dislodged and damaged the ABS sensor. Got my local Indy to sort it and all is well now.

I checked with Skoda workshop and they said it is the abs module that has failed so what shall I do now? They quoted me approximately  £1800.

Does anyone know where can i find abs module for cheap in India?

Any idea where can I find the abs module for cheap in India?

Probably it's faulty ABS sensor. 15min job to get it swap.

Read fault codes and let us know.

Just checked the invoice for the work on my ABS sensor, the sensor itself was £49.95 + 20% VAT. A replacement module was not required.

It certainly could be a sensor or the reluctor ring and seems more likely than the ABS module.

However, unless the OP is able to get the fault codes it's impossible to know which, if any, of the above are likely faulty. Let's confirm the problem before suggesting the OP starts spending money on possibly unneeded parts...?

@AdityaG24 - you need to use VCDS or similar before you do any work for a few reasons:

- it'll confirm the part number of your existing ABS module (if needed, you can buy the correct one first time)

- it'll show any fault codes (to confirm the problem before spending money)

- you can read the current coding (very important when replacing ABS modules!!!)

No idea where to get cheap parts in India, in the UK I'd suggest eBay or a breakers/scrap yard - I assume the same is true for India?

yes .. I have the same problem with the ABS system. My workshop cannot get the codes but has checked all the wiring and power to the module is OK. But resistance was found when the motor connectors where checked .I have tried to source a new/2nd hand abs module with the part # supplied But nothing available in New Zealand or Australia so far. The other thing I found out on my 2009 Mk2 is the value has dropped to a loss of 4000NZD per year since I have owned this car. It has only done 144000KLm. So that means the car is not worth more than 4000$ Is it worth spending large sums of money on it with NO resale value and every time it is serviced it costing about 1000$ because of other faults found. The main question is can a module from a different model Skoda be fitted and re configured at a better cost. Also I have been quoted 4150.00 + 15% tax for labour only to remove and a time of 5.5 hours that is $948.75 Plus parts Plus refitting and all the other costs as required. help please. Thankyou.

You really need to check fault codes.

Fault code check essential.

My son had same on Audi A6 and the problem was low voltage.

A specialist lIad tested each power supply and found a broken cable under wheel arch.

Audi wouldn't supply jys controller and wanted £3k for controller and pump 😀😀

If you do have a diff controller then there are a few ECU repairers on the web that fix them for very reasonable money.

I did go to local agent and had a scan done and all the fault codes came up pointing to speed sensors rear tail light etc. Now getting sensors disconnected and then see if the fault codes come up. Interesting all the fault codes say the fault is intermittent. Skoda NZ cannot supply any parts for the ABS system.
