Gearbox Skoda scout transfer box

Featured Replies

I have a 2008 2.0 TDI bmm of diesel scout. This car has a 6 speed manual gear box. Does anyone know the gearbox code for this box.

Are the transfer box the same for the petrol and diesel engines. I have a whine which I am trying to get to the bottom of. I talk to my mechanic by phone he thinks the whine may be gearbox or transfer box. I think it is turbo related. As travel is limited at the moment due to CV 19 and the garage is closed it is difficult to figure out. Just trying to locate parts in case I need them

Transmission code will be on the build data sticker on the boot floor,  a copy of which may possibly be in the front of your service book.

Usually on the same line as engine code, but if in doubt just post a photo and I'll see if I can help.

Our MY2007 2.9 tdi Octy has a JLR 6-speed manual box FYI.

I've noticed when on long fast motorway drives (70-ish) there's a low level "wah wah" noise at about 2Hz from somewhere behind us which I've put down to the rear axle diff.  It's not loud and only audible after many speed miles so I've not worried about it.

A turbo whine has a distinct noise to it, almost like a distant Police siren, quite high pitched.

The rear diff or transfer box is more likely to be a whirring or rumbling. Getting someone to drive the car whilst you are in the front and then in the back should help to pinpoint which end of the car the noise is emanating from.
