Lifted the hatch the other day and the fabric handle was wet and water was dripping out of the holes at either end, after removing the plastic cover on the inside of the hatch I could see that the water was coming from the handle area,If you remove the 4 torx screws the outside trim will pull off, found out it was a rubber seal around the edge,pulled off the rubber cleaned it up and rebedded it in some Tiger sealent, hey presto nice and dry !

had the same problem when the rear wash hose popped off ...
