Hi

Im thinking of getting some 8 x 18" alloys with 225 40 ZR18 tires, will these fit ok with no rubbing to an std Octavia vRS?

Also, if i then lower the car a bit with upgraded springs only, will the tires rub then? and how will the handling be effected by this, both before and after the springs?

I think it handles well enough as standard, but does look better with the lower springs I checked out a Bora with the 18" RS4's im looking at and it had been lowered 30mm, looked great!!

Should be fine if they are the correct offset

I've run 19s with 235 tyres, they rub on the strut on lock but no wheel arch problems

i thought the 18's would take 235 35 R18's but may be wrong...

i know of a vRS running 19's that was lowered around 40-50mm and it was fine...

I've run 2 different sets of 18" wheels with 225/40 tyres and have had no problems.

wicked, thats the wheels sorted then (apart from putting something in on the centre cap of the wheels, poss an RS badge or Skoda, not sure yet???) but how will the handling be with the wheels on and std suspension? and also with lower springs and wheels?

BTW what offset are they as they could end up sticking out proud of the arches if you get the wrong ones.

Is that ok?
