00931 - Locking Module for Central Locking; Rear Right (F223)

Featured Replies

I have the following issue / error however the car door locks and unlocks with no problems as expected. Anyone else had this issue and found a fix? Iam thinking the electrical contact on the connecting plugs may just need a clean.

Thanks in Advance

Take a look at this from Ross Tech:-

Possible Symptoms

  • Door Locks not working properly

Possible Causes

  • Wiring/Connectors from/to Locking Module for Central Locking; Rear Right (F223) faulty
  • Voltage Supply for Locking Module for Central Locking; Rear Right (F223) faulty
  • Door Lock Mechanics are stiff/partially seized
  • Locking Module for Central Locking; Rear Right (F223) faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Locking Module for Central Locking; Rear Right (F223)
  • Check Voltage Supply for Locking Module for Central Locking; Rear Right (F223)
  • Check Door Lock Mechanics/Operation
  • Check Locking Module for Central Locking; Rear Right (F223)

A common cause of locking problems on all doors is the wiring from the driver's door where it goes through the flexible trunking from the driver's door to the A pillar. The wires can break through constant flexing. Easy to check this and the connectors before looking further.

Check too that the door open light on the dashboard and the interior lights come on when just the  driver's door is opened  and then with just the offside rear door.

Ok so today I spent a bit of time on this and cant find anything wrong.

However rather than solve the problem I squeezed another error code out of the car.

00108 signal central locking save / lock rear right.

I also notice when I get in the car and just sit in it the rear right lock double clicks at random times.

Now my ears could be making something out of nothing but I noticed when I close that door there is another sound that comes from the boot. Infact I think the same sound can be heard no matter which door you close. But I could be wrong.

Thought I would give this a bump just in case

Sound from the boot could be the boot locking. Easy to check.

As you have a combination of related faults, check the wiring in the harness that goes from the driver's door to the body through the snake, for breakages. The driver's door lock is the master and it is not unknown for wires in this harness to break as it is the most used door.

@pikpilot Thank for the knowledge it never occurred to me that the drivers door is the master!!!! So I whipped the panel of the drivers door over the weekend and looked at the snake joint in detail. I could see no problems but while it was off I spared every connector with electrical contact cleaner. Problem seems to have been solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done but just remember that a broken wire may make contact again if it has been moved slightly.

Wires in the rubber snake tend to break about  three inches in from the end of the rubber.
