Fabia Buying Guide?

Featured Replies

Do you not find it like 50x Slower?

Err yeah! But it saves me money and at the mo thats what counts! I'm hankering after another Octavia vRS tho , as they give the best of both worlds - ie its quick enough to be interesting but will still give 40 mpg on a gentle run....and evo would have to be pushed off a cliff to give any more than 20 mpg....I used to average about 15mpg in town......

Sadly not in Northern Ireland. Just 6 and none of them are that 1.4 16v I'm after.

One will turn up and I'll get it then.

Well I would suggest you pop on the ferry across to Stranraer and pick up a nice Fabia in Glasgow or Dumfries, you would get what YOU WANT at a good price if you look

I stole my Fabia 1.9TDI from an up market town VW dealer, who had had it for a year in the showroom that only people who wanted a real VW visited and Skoda was like a scab on the skin I even had the cheek to mention it and got even more off :-) paying cash

I love my Furby, saving up for the VRS at Dunfermline dealer with the VRS SKODA DECALS all over it black green and white mmmmmn Then the BRISKODA stickers on the windaes and a re-map at star Kdy

greetings,i have to say that fiat arent all bad,i had 2 punto gt's.in all over 10yrs for the both and neither let me down once and just for a bit of fun the vrs would'nt catch it!

A remapped vRS wouldn't have an issue sticking with a standatd Punto GT (1.4 turbo i assume your talking about), and a standard one would give a very good account of itself, and would have very similar mid range acceleration whilst achieving 10-15 more mpg.

If reliability is really the key, then you want to be looking at Japanese offerings. Skoda may be the most reliable European car (if you believe the surveys!) but is still some way behind the Honda's and Toyota's of this world.....Chris
Who cares ? The Skoda is reliable, economic, good residuals, excellent value, excellent after sales, and most of all .... doesn't rely on copying other manufacturers designs like Japanese cars mostly are.

The equivalent Japanese

PLUS ... the skoda isn't made from recycled cardboard .....
