2020 octavia Rs245 Vibration

Featured Replies

Hi Guys and girls.

I have just bought a new octavia RS245 wagon. There is a slight vibration which i can feel in my legs and bum (not noticable in the steering) when im driving over 100km/h.

Vibration doesn't seem to be effected by backing of throttle.

All of the wheel weights are still attached so i dont think its a wheel balance issue.

This is my first front wheel drive car so just wondering if its normal for front wheel drive or if its a exhaust resinance thing or something i need to get checked our before it causes damage

Thanks

No not normal. I would go back to the dealer and ask them to rebalance the wheels for a start. Yours is a mkIII Octavia by the way 😉

Welcome to the forum.

?

What tyre pressures did the car get handed over to you with, and have you adjusted them and reset the TPMS?

Best check to see if the Transit Blocks have been removed, and have the car checked generally.

The tyres have 36psi I've pumped them to 39 and reset the tpms.

I'll see if anything changes on the way to work tomorrow.

Hi everybody ... Hi my friend!.. I have EXACTLY the same problem as you have:

I also just bought a new octavia RS245 wagon and there is a slight vibration which i can feel in my legs and bum (not noticable in the steering) when im driving over 100km/h.

Have you been able to fix it? ... What's wrong? ...

I would be very grateful if you could help me. Wait your answer. Many thamks!

Luis.

Is it over specific road surfaces as they can induce vibrations.

I have had skoda service team and another mechanic look at my car. No one can find any mechanical issues with it.

Mine hasn't changed after 8,000km.

I'm starting to think it's just a combination of the sporty suspension and Australia's **** roads

Hello craige-oo. Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

I also think like you, I think that the sporty suspension does not get along with some types of roads.

I take the opportunity and ask you another question:

If I disconnect the start / stop system and leave the car stopped (DSG in position N or P) with the engine running at idle, I also notice a slight vibration (in the seat and floor of the car) which I can feel in my legs and bum (not noticable in the steering)… I dislike this a bit because before I had a FABIA RS and that one at idle seemed to have the engine stopped.

What about your Octavia in that sense, do you also feel slight vibrations with the engine idling? ...

Thank you very much for your help, my friend. I wait your answer.

Luis, I just tried to replicate what you said. Yes mine also has a very slight vibration when sitting at idle.
