Little engine warning light illuminated

Featured Replies

Hi, looking for advice.

Today the little warning light showing a picture of an engine stays lit.

The manual - in French - tells me that there's some kind of exhaust gas imbalance.

My habitual mechanic has told me - in French - that driving at 2500rpm for 10 minutes should clear it.

Does anyone have the same experience? It seems like the advice given for clearing the particulate filter.

Is he right or should I worry about it? If I call my local Skoda garage (50km away) I'll have to drive there and pay 42€ for a diagnostic, then go back another day and pay 150€ for a new sensor.

Thanks for reading to the end.

That is the 'Exhaust Emissions Control' light that you have on.

& a sensor could be the issue.

I am not sure on what you have for a DPF light, but hopefully someone in the know will be along to help.

I had that light come on and it turned out to be #3 glow plug failed.
Did not know that until I plugged in my OBDII reader, the glow plug light did not come on.

Edit: Get yourself a decent OBDII reader and a free App on your phone, could save you €€€€€.
