Remap - Steering weight

Featured Replies

Quick question, when getting a remap, can they also add more weight to the steering in sport mode?

The reason I ask is that I always drive in sport mode in our Superb, where as with our old VRS I would drive in sport mode and then switch back to normal when I was doing lots of town driving as it was easier. In the Superb, the weight of the steering just isn't as heavy in sport mode as it was in an Octavia and I can manage all driving in Sport mode.

I can't comment on the remap but last Christmas I walloped a pothole and that made a big difference to steering feel (ditto for always using sport mode). It felt strangely light on some road surfaces after that.

Only got it sorted last Friday and steering feels much stiffer now.

This mod whilst it alters the throttle response it also changes the steering.
I used to have my steering set to sport, and since mod normal feels like it did on sport, and sport now too heavy for me but could be what your looking for.

Not really a feature linked to a remap. If your tuner can do anything that would be out of his own VCDS knowledge.

In the MKII Fabia there was a specific adaptation that allowed you to add more weight, i would imagine there would be something similar still.

However I am quite happy with the steering in Sport.Yes it's not as heavy as in a Leon Cupra (or as you say in a Octavia vRS) but the added weight on these cars is completely artificial, there's 0 extra information through the steering, it's more like the car is simply opposing your input for no reason, hence why I haven't bothered looking for such a setting.

It’s in vcds defo and it’s about how much assistance you want it to have. Not sure what the channels are now but I can have a look if you like and let you know. It does make a difference but very subtle
