Tyre recommendations 225/40/18

Featured Replies

Looking for new tyres for front what's everyone running, looking for a good all-rounder and pretty quiet, currently running Avon Zv7,s and they are quite noisy cheers

Michelin CrossClimate+ - fit a set of 4 if you can.

As above.

+1 for Crossclimates all round, been brilliant on my 4x4 Superb Estate, wearing well.

I run at a slightly higher tyre pressure, seems to help wear on the Estates.

If you can be bothered, and spare another 80 quid I would go for a 4 wheel Hunter 3D alignment soon after getting new tyres.

They must be good if you all recommend them 👍

Another vote for Michelin Cross Climates from me!

As above and above and above that😎

Barum Bravuris for pure summer tyres.

Good to see so many in agreement 😃

For best (and most stable?) results I would fit 4, although perhaps your rears still have a lot of life left ?

Yeah rear ones are virtually new so don't really want to bin them, iam going to put 2 Michelin cross climates on front and get the wheels refurbed at the same time .

Cross Climates x 4 26,000 miles and as good as new.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on the Thermistos. Will have some Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 to compare shortly.

Be careful with your tyre combination. You are using 2 very different compounds / rubber mixes on front and rear - summer and all-season/winter tyre. It will be o.k. on dry road but you can get very unpredictable behaviour in lower grip conditions. You have the tyre with less grip in cold and wet on the rears which can be fun but may lead to brown pants easily.
