Hello everyone, 😄

 

Very happy to be able to create this post. I have been lusting after one of these since 2008/2009 when they were introduced but was too young to even have a license back then! I was heartbroken when they got discontinued... But I was lucky enough to find one as close to new as possible AND with my perfect spec that I used to dream of!!! 

This is my Scirocco R in Candy White with pan roof, 19" Talladegas and R cloth seats (my preference over leather). It's a manual gearbox with 18k miles from new and one owner. Full VW history too. It is virtually brand new. 

This is NOT my main car, I intend to keep the mileage low only driving it on weekends. My commuting work is still done by the 16 Fabia 😁

 

I know it isn't everyones cup of tea but it is literally my dream car so I wanted to share 😋

Always preferred the styling of Scirocco compared to the Golf but the R is front wheel drive isn't it probably based upon a SEAT Cupra platform yet it still handles well from the you tube video's I've watched.I also lusted over one and bought a Mk2 Superb instead back in 2009.

Yes in my opinion the styling of the Scirocco is better than the Golf (one of the best designed cars ever in my opinion). The handling is superb, definitely a drivers car. The wider wheel base makes a huge difference when comparing to the Golf/Leon, never feels like it needs 4 wheel drive.

The mk2 Superb is also a fine automobile, the name really doesn't lie 👌

The Superb must have made quite an impression on me as I bought used ones in 2012 and 2014 (FL) and a new Mk3 in 2016 and my present car used in 2019.

I must admit for a while last year I was looking at getting a Superb 280 because I find them irresistible!! So much performance in such a refined car 😍

I absolutely agree! 😁

Very nice Car and you don't see too many of them about either! The CDL Motor is the best Version of the 2.0 TFSI offerings too.

My Friend had an identical Car to yours back in 2013 and I drove it quite a few times, I have to say that even though I have had 2 x MK6 Golf R's myself I do prefer the FWD Platforms and they do handle better in my opinion....Quicker too once rolling!

Will keep an eye out for you as I am in South Yorks.

@bonelorry I'm glad someone else agrees with me! Obviously the Golf R is much quicker to 60, but when talking about pure handling feel and driving pleasure, the FWD platform really is very very sweet indeed 👌
