On my previous Passat's I could view my phone contacts list on the MFD in the centre of the instrument panel and scroll/select the contact through the steering wheel thumbwheel. 

On my Superb Sportline (virtual cockpit) it only displays the calls made/received in the instrument panel, and not the contact list which I find pointless. I guess that the voice control is the only way that I can select a contact apart from using the Columbus unit which takes your attention away from the road. 

I'm now thinking I may have to rename the contacts in my mobile to include surnames instead of my random abbreviations (Paul J Paul Ja, Sharon A Sharon H etc.) to use voice control effectively. 

Has anyone worked out if you can change the calls made list to contacts in the instrument panel or come up with another practical option, or am I the only dummy who abbreviates my contact list 🤪

That's how it works on my May 2018 1.4TsiSE.  Using the right hand switch on the steering wheel select phone then thumbwheel down contacts. From memory they are listed by most recent.
