Puddle Light

Featured Replies

Good Morning, I'm a proud owner of  Skoda Octavia MK2 2012. 2.0 tdi. I have retrofit power folding mirrors with puddle lights. I think I already know the answer but to be sure I'm asking on here.

The puddle lights and mirrors work fine with no fault codes.  The only downside is the puddle lights. They only work when the mirror is folded out, and they only fold out by turning on the ignition. So I am already in the car, which seems pointless having them. I would like to get them to work when I unlock the car with the key and the mirrors fold out at the same time.

Firstly is this at all possible, I did read on one thread about going into EEPROM and making changes there, but I do not have the expertise or software to do this.  I have looked at the link to the EEPROM changes from a German site, way to complicated for me. I have an original Ross Tech VCDS, but know I cannot make the changes using that. If it is possible is there anyone on this site able to do this. More than willing to pay and travel to have this done.

Thank you for for any advice given.

Kev

Have a sniff around your local VAG dealer, the mechanics often do homers 😉

Thanks MicMac, I'll keep that in mind. Hoping to find someone who Odis or VCP who has the knowledge to do it.

If you can make it to Norfolk, I'm happy to take a look. Just drop me a PM and we can sort something out 🙂

I've tweaked my door eeproms to always use the puddle light and I think they unfold when I open the door rather than on unlock if I remember correctly. I don't think on unlock can be done with this generation of car.
