Remapped My Skoda Superb

Featured Replies

Hi guys I remapped my Skoda Superb MkIII FROM 143 to 191bhp and wondered would it be just as quick off the mark just like an original factory car with 191 bhp?

All depends where the power and torque has been coded. Has it been low end, balanced or the high end.

Was it a custom map or a generic one?

Not sure what that means,I’ve got printed read out of the remap.

Hi it was just a stage one remap

Diesel or petrol?

@Michaelbar69

?

Why not go and test drive a 190ps as it left the factory and satisfy your curiosity?

Diesel 2.0 tdi

Not easy to just go and do that mate

Just wondered if a remapped 143 to 191 isn’t the same power as a factory set one, what is the equivalent?

Compare the curves from your remap to a stock 190ps engine, if they are similar then it'll probably be as quick if not faster as I expect a 150ps engine is slightly lighter than a 190ps.

At the end of the day, it'll all depend how good the remap is to how drive-able and quick the car is :)

What torque is it producing?

A factory 190 is 400Nm

My car went from 143.1 to 191.1 bhp, and the torque from 321.5 nm to 425.4 nm.

How about the DSG and the torque? I read somewhere that the gearbox cannot handle more than 400nm...

Anybody with experience who did remap on the 190bhp engine?

The 190 DSG will handle well over 500Nm.

not sure if the 150 DSG is the same though.

Then it should be slightly better than a stock 190.

I can see the remapping can goes from 190bhp to 225bhp and 400nm to 470nm.

Any differences between DSG6 VS DSG7?

I don't know anybody who did it yet. Would love to hear some experience within this topic.

Fuel consumption, acceleration, any extra downside for example dual clutch, any kind of failure etc.

I am also interested of the other side effects. How did this change your fuel consumption for example?

190 DSG

Now 220 / 505Nm

Slightly better on fuel (couple of mpg more)

Mine 190 diesel, dsg 4x4 sportline.
Racingline map 235 bhp and 540nm. Consumption slightly better on a run but Obviously as expected will use more if really pushed.

Standard curve and mapped. You can see the torque limiters on the gearbox limiting at bang on 400nm
