I collected my SE L First Edition last Friday.

All good so far although I am still trying to work out the tech!

The only onvious problem is the SatNAv displaying metric units.

I called at the Dealer this afternoon and after trying all the menus without success the Salesman went and spoke to the service department. Apparently there are a number of cars accross the model range that have this problem with the SatNav. They are waiting for a software update to resolve it. I wonder how long it will be?

  • So update from me.  With no end in sight and the Skoda UK not being able to provide a suitable hire car for me, I have taken the 2.0 TDI VRS that was offered to me by the dealer with a. full buy back

I'm afraid I've joined the growing list of owners rejecting vehicles plagued with the technological problems. (It would be interesting to know how many have been rejected over recent months.......)

Spearmg, thanks for that, will (hopefully) find out on the 12 October if that's the case.

The latest update from customer services .... The tech team are aware of the problem and are working on a fix. BUT when it's ready it will only be updated on the car when you go in for a service!

This in my mind is pretty deplorable as you could be driving around for over a year when a fix be available. That's not customer service!

Car went in on Monday 12th, got it back yesterday, no fix but service team are compiling complaints/faults and are liasing with Skoda UK tech dept. No mention of time scale for software update.

I submitted a form online about the issue and got a call from one of the team. He's asked me to book my car into the garage and he'll seak to them when it's in there. So, I've booked in for 13th Nov (Yay, fri 13th) and he'll hopefully call them up

Reported this to Skoda Customer services a couple of weeks ago. I got an update from them today saying that Skoda technical are aware of the issue.  The customer services girl said she will update me next week on this.

👍

I don’t tend to use the built in navigation much, but mine has always shown the distance for a destination in miles.

Dropped the car with the garage this morning so I’ll see if they fix it and report back. Anyone else managed to get theirs sorted yet?

So they had the car all day. I got a call around 3pm saying that Skoda had advised them to load new firmware into the car. They did this but there's no difference. They've reported back to Skoda and I can apparently expect an update and a "Plan B" next week

Skoda has had my car since Wednesday and still have it, with no fix to any of the issues I am having with the software. Not impressed to say the least!

Garage contacted me to say they had received a software update re phone not connecting (didn't post this previously), they tried it on a car owned by a staff member  who is having the same problem (didn't work).

There's a surprise ☹️

Yeah, totally.

There was an update today ... Still no miles/yds etc ☹️

Hi everyone, just really to put a marker down I have the same issue on my new Octavia.  It refuses to accept an entry against Miles in units and repeatedly defaults to Km although it is showing Gals UK and Speed in MPH.

Awaiting verdict from Dealership!!

This is our 3rd Octavia since 2013 and have never experienced so many faults!!:@

Still not had any further updates from Skoda, .

Completed the update this morning all to no avail - sadly the issues still persist.

Skoda are covering themselves in much glory at the moment ☹️

Yes quite agree this issue must have existed at concept and it is pretty disgusting that they haven't prioritised a fix for it and leave us all without support.   Interestingly I've seen a comment somewhere that there are similar issues on the Golf 8 which presumably is running with the same Infotainment application.

I'll try my dealership again today to try to progress it and keep you updated.

Golf 8 deliveries were delayed several months after the press release to enable VW to sort out "software problems" - it sounds like they didn't delay long enough?

Worst Golf launch ever?
