I currently drive a 1.2 TSI Fabia MC & I'm considering a change. Only problem is I am having trouble finding the info I need so I'm reaching out to helpful owners 
I am torn between getting a MK3 Octavia 1.4 TSI (looking at either SEL or SE Sport) and a MK3 Superb. My main consideration is the interior - does any of the Octavias have ambient lighting or any kind of interior lighting other than the usual ceiling lights?  At first I was set on the Superb Sportline, but apparently they don't have ambient lighting as standard!
I'll be looking at used by the way and ideally before April 2017 so we get the benefit of cheaper car tax (can't justify paying more yearly for the same engine and power output)

Just what i look for in a new car purchase, the interior ambient lighting.

 

Mine has foot-well lights in the front, two LED's which are always illuminated at night above the gear stick, along with the usual ceiling lights when the doors are opened. 2015 elegance hatch

What is it about the interior ambience lighting that you are so sold on? 

 

I'll see what I can dig up from the world wide web for you. Does it need to come as standard? Interior ambience lighting can be fitted to any car. Can make a car look like a drug dealer/ chav mobile if not tasteful in my opinion 

In my opinion the ambient lighting just makes it a really nice place to be in especially in the winter months when it gets really dark really early. I usually like OEM lighting like the one you can get in the Superb - just the thin LED strip running along the doors and dashboard. Nothing else. It is literally a case of if I can't get an Octavia or Superb with the ambient lighting, there is no point swapping cars at the moment. Only benefit to me from my Fabia to an Octavia or Superb would be just the ambient lighting. I don't need the extra room or anything like that...

Only the facelift Octy has ambient lighting and only the vRS and L&K have it as standard. SportLine and L&K Superb’s also have it as standard but pre MY17 Superb’s only have 3 colours, later cars and all Octy’s that have it have 10 colours. Mine has 30 but that’s via firmware flash and coding
