  • Aaaand I've not bought a Land Cruiser   So Toyota phones me up last night  -   "we're really sorry but we offered you £4k too much for your car we can't go through with the deal"

  • Mentioned a Mog to my mate, he said it would be good since you can use it to rotate the earth to the position you need. Less good for driving to Leicestershire

There are beautiful ready to go 90 / 110 & 130's all over the place for sale, but when you get in the lovely seats the elbow room is still as it was when they left the factory.

What did Sherlock say about when you've ruled out everything else ...

So, as we've decided you're buying a Unimog, which one are you going for :)

pretty sure hell need an hgv license along with the firearms license :D

It won't be an X7 judging by his dislike for oversized front grills.;)

The Mog is worth it :)

I have thought about getting my HGV license purely for the shi!ts and giggles.

If I had somewhere to put a Mog I think I'd be considering it more.

I quite the idea of an Ural 4320 as well

Drove it, liked it. It's quite old fashioned in some places but looks like it will be a very easy car to live with whilst still doing everything I need.

Got offered a very good price for the BMW which is what swung it.

There is a very good reason virtually every Kenyan MP drives a Landcruiser. They will go anywhere, are very reliable and almost indestructible. If I ever move to Kenya it would be my first choice and taxi drivers give you plenty of room because they are scared you have an armed Police Officer driving you.

One review had -

If you want to go into the Outback drive a Land Rover;

If you want to come back, drive a Land Cruiser

Australians have said that for decades now, and were not happy as Toyota's got more electrics and the engines could not just run on a simple wiring set up.

Only negatives we could find,

  • It's old school on the inside, tough as old boot but no nice soft touch stuff. Nothing crackly everything feels liked it's solid but it not tactile really. All glove suitable I suppose.
  • Passenger seat doesn't height adjust, SO wanted to put hers down she felt quite pertched on it.
  • They've put a tow bar on it, which I did want, but it's non-removable, it makes a big car quite a bit bigger. I assume I could get this switched out later.
  • Diamond cut bloody alloys. On a proper 4x4. FFS

I rate a fixed tow ball very highly.

Practical for those that think touch parking is the way to go or that can not stop properly in traffic.

I have had a few hits over the years with no damage to my vehicle but broken number plates or dented fronts on their cars / taxis.

Aye bike rack is exactly what I wanted it for. But also for a trailer.

SO's mother is downsizing so we need to collect a lot of stuff, I was going to hire a trailer but I can probably just fit it all in a door pocket for the LC.

We did a we trial run to the supermarket on the drive, found out the LC is about a foot longer (+tow bar) than a standard space. 360 camera handily showed us hanging out front and back.

Did you take a photo of the beast to share with us? My Dad got punted around 180 degrees a few years ago by a transit van when slowing on a motorway slip road yet there was no damage to his Vauxhall due to the fixed tow bar taking the full impact but the transit was written off.

Supermarkets have extra long 4x4 SUV parking available even if no Children or Disabled in the vehicles.
