Skoda Running costs

Featured Replies

I've noticed in the past that people ask about the running costs for various models, so I thought I'd try and create a thread where the info could be stored in one place.

Please add as much detailed info as you can.......

  • I know this hasn't really been added to much of late, but as my car is getting on a bit, figured I'd post the work it's had done over the last 9 years/100,000 miles. It's a 1.4 16v (AUB) Fabia estate

Had mine for 32 months, did 138k miles in it.

Fuel economy; motorways cuising at 80-85 indicated, I'd get about 38mpg, A roads about 35, brisk driving on A roads about 30-32, trackdays about 12 and the Ring about 8-10 mpg.

Servicing costs: You can either go variable servicing or fixed 10k servicing. I went 10k due to my mileage and needing to know when it would need a service. Costs were:

This is based on a friend

Ooooh , nice idea.

My 1.9 tdi elegance (110bhp) is about to go , so over 3 years and 80000 miles I paid out the following

10k - £90

20k - £230

30k - £90

40k - £260

50k - £90

60k - £240 including free cambelt change (Would have been £250)

70k - £90k

4 new tyres , fronts at 40k rears at 60k - £360

Brake pads - £22

Warranty fixes were an air vent and a switch on the clutch pedal

Fuel consumption averaged at 52mpg which is about 7000 litres of diesel. At a rough average of 90p a litre that was £6300

Depreciation was £8k , so my 80000 miles cost me in total £15772

Absolute robbery - I have found cheaper already - hope your listening:D

I would say a mark 1 OCT VRS is not bad on fuel:

Around town your lucky or very light footed to get in the 20's

On a motoway 35 is average

Not bad for a turbo i guess
