What are little oblongs appearing on my dash display?

Featured Replies

What are little oblongs appearing on my dash display? The ones to the right of "3190ml".

Also, it sounds a ping and says "inspection" when I start the car. It's a 2019 car and hasn't had its first service yet. Maybe that?

Also, the main dealer didn't give me a service book. When I bought the car they said they don't do them anymore. Is that right? Seems like that would be difficult when coming to sell.

Thanks for any help.

They are reminders for the rear seat belts.

And no, service books have been out of use for a number of years. The service record is held online, you can obtain a print out from your dealer.

Thanks Tech1e. They must always have been there, and I've not noticed them before.

What "oblongs"?   Are you referring to the tyre pressure indicators?

Oh, those... They are just showing the rear seat belts are not fastened. Buckle either in and the symbol changes for the appropriate belt.

I think you may have previously not noticed them when starting the car.

It's new information to me, I really should read the owners manual one day

As above, you get a hanbook but no service book nowadays.
