Dashboard warning lights

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have another quirky issue with the 53 plate 1.4 auto.

I have noticed that when the car is running, the airbag warning light is lit very faintly and when I switch the engine off, that plus the rear foglight warning lights are permanently glowing very faintly.

Is this a known problem or has anyone got any ideas where I might start looking for the fault?

If you own a soldering iron, I would suggest re-flowing the solder joints of all pins of both connectors on the instrument cluster circuit board.

Seems those joints aren't very good. My son owned the car and also had the rev counter and speedo stop working randomly.

Car is sitting idle at the moment so another job on the list 🙁

I had this last week (2003 Sdii) but it was the handbrake like very slightly glowing intermittently ,then very slightly glowing with ignition off keys out, checked brake fluid level and wire and all ok but it was a very damp day and hasn't happened again ,my immobbilliser light also comes on ,usually when car is hot but I've deleted the immo so it's just a light ,seems I have solder issue also

It's annoying,Anton, isn't it. I can't drive at the moment as I am waiting for a back operation so can't do anything to the car. Trouble is it's draining the battery slowly. Guess I will have to disconnect the battery for now.

Yes but pleased I had immo Deleted so not stranded any more ! also New brake light switch 2 weeks Back and Afew random  Bulbs, hope. Things settle Down a. Bit now., parking in. Sun. Instead of Driveway, drive damp out maybe!!

Maybe for the slow drain you could use one of those solar chargers that plug into aux socket.

Edit /phone putting in random. Capital letters!
