Apple car play wireless

Featured Replies

Hey

another post! Lol, any one here use apple car play with music (not downloaded music but streaming apple music) via wireless and have issue of 8-10secs in on songs it stops and you get the apple cog of working......or when going to next song can take forever then will randomly start playing after a min or so.Gona test it does the same via hardwire, im thinking its the wireless and not a signal issue as i have full signal.

I don’t have the same problem as you, but my music keeps cutting out for a second or two every minute roughly on Apple Music, whilst playing through wireless car play. It’s very frustrating.

i wonder if its some sort of drop out from the wireless connection maybe?

Hi

i use wireless CarPlay with my iPhone but use Amazon Music. Streaming or playing from downloaded playlists works fine for me.

Don’t know if that helps or is just an annoying comment to make.

Cheers

no that helps tbh as you clearly get no interruptions, so it could be wireless or apple music its self. Will try wired today and see what happens

So wifi off, plugged in for apple car play absolutely no issue, seems its deffo a connection issue for wireless

  • 9 months later...

Disabling esim worked for me. No more problems with Apple Music streaming

Described problems would be resolved with main control unit replace with the latest FW and SW..

If you have problem on Apple, then there is the same problem on Android devices.

I borrowed a Fluke from work after getting peeved at the instability of wireless CarPlay. The blasted thing is modulating the channels almost constantly which is the cause of the drop outs. In a 5 minute scan I observed it automatically switching channels 9 times.  For context, a standard household router supplied by an ISP might swap its wireless channel once or twice a month, if left in auto mode.

I've since disabled anything related to wireless connection and gone back to using USB as it works first time, every time.

I always assumed it was due to the iPhone wifi connection trying to use the car as Internet data source, instead of the phone. When turning off eSim in the car, all issues disappear (and Skoda Connect things, like remote A/C, trip sync etc, magically still continue to “work” as usual).
