Reverse Light Bulb Upgrade

Featured Replies

Have realised the stock reverse bulbs on my MY2017 superb L&K are crap and need to replace with something brighter.

I am aware people use the Phillips PY21W (https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/philips-x-tremeultinon-led-gen2-py21w-twin) for indicators with no canbus issues but was wondering if anyone had used the P21W (https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/philips-x-tremeultinon-led-gen2-p21w-6000k-twin) for the reverse ones with same ease of install.

Has anyone tried the white ones as well as the amber ones and do they throw up canbus errors. Was used to LED reverse lights in my rapid spaceback as that had no canbus i could use anything but would like to avoid errors and get this correct first time.

Cheers in advance

I’ve got them in my Octavia and they work fine. No errors thrown up but I coded them in as LED anyway, belt and braces etc.

What are the std ones? I noticed the other night how puny they are when reversing in the dark and rain. I think brighter bulbs would help.

I replaced both the reversing and indicator bulbs on mine (MY17) with LED ones from Auxito.

They're CANBUS friendly and throw no errors. Nor is any coding required.

Much brighter.

Same as @JR RS. I've replaced both reverse and rear blinkers halogen lamps for LED bulbs on my MY2017 Mk3. I don't have any error and it didn't require any coding adaptation.

Are the LEDs flickering on startup when the car does the cold diagnosis checking for blown bulbs?

No flickering at all.

The good quality canbus error free ones won't give u any problems.

I have Auxito indicators and reversing LED’s and haven’t had any issues with them either.
