Just finished my 3 day stint and totally exhausted having chalked up another 1,165 calories today and another 2 hours and 52km completed so over these last 3 days I have cycled 156km which is my best performance since I started on November 9th 2020. Day 43 totals now stand at 56 hours and 1,392km.

Forgot to update yesterday Day 44 totals now 57 hours and 1,417km.

Despite walking 4.5 miles at work last night (6 patrols) and having just 6 hours sleep this morning went past 33,000 calories just now and managed 26km and 1 hour (another 577 calories). Had no breakfast or lunch today and feel surprisingly strong so all this training must be paying off with increased stamina. Day 45 totals now 58 hours and 1,443km.

Steady day just 1 hour and 26km giving Day 46 totals of 59 hours and 1,469km. On target to reach my 9th Feb target of 1,500km but DIY chores take over next week from Monday to keep SWMBO happy in her new home office and to clear my garage of the laminate flooring we bought last year instead of going on holiday to Hawaii. :emoticon-0157-sun:

Went past 34,000 calories earlier and after 1 hour 30 minutes managed a decent 40km giving Day 47 totals of 60 hours 30 minutes and 1,509km. Hopefully something similar tomorrow.

Morning session saw 35,000 calories exceeded plus another 18km in 40 minutes so far. Update later.

Hit my mental target today and the 40-60 minute session was impressive at 10km but even the last 30 minutes managed 13km so overall did 41km today in 1 hour 30 minutes even better than the 40km yesterday. Day 48 totals are 62 hours and 1,550km. Now a rest for a few days while I crack on with laying laminate flooring in 3 bedrooms on our top floor.

Passed 36,000 calories in the morning session and still a bit stiff after several days doing DIY so only 22km in 53 minutes so far. Daily update to come later.

Fatigue set in so just 38km in 1 hour 30 minutes today so Day 49 totals are 63 hours 30 minutes and 1,588km.

Went past 37,000 calories earlier and matched yesterday with 1 hour 30 minutes on the bike and slightly further with another 39km so Day 50 totals are 65 hours and 1,627km.

Some stats from the first 50 days. 744 calories per day (37,200 total) and 78 minutes per day on the bike with an average of 32.54km per day. Finally average speed so far 25.03kph not bad considering I'm cycling uphill all the time (level 4 incline). This morning just steady so far with 24km in the first hour as I'm aiming for a total of 2 hours today. Update later as usual.

Went past 38,000 calories in the afternoon on my way to 49km in 2 hours and Day 51 totals now 67 hours and 1,676km.

Some days are easier than others. I have cereal and milk for breakfast, today no lunch which is normal for me so have quite an appetite by dinner time (6pm when not working).

I read your posts in a sense of awe most days. The stats of distance, speed and calories are impressive.  :)

When I quit smoking 13 yrs ago this year, I took to cycling to help distract me from cravings. I once managed to ride 40 miles in a day, so have some understanding of what you are doing. As I said, fair play to you. Sadly, more so in lockdown, I am doing less and as my recycling tells me, drinking more. Your posts act as a 'Briskoda' prompt to do more exercise!!

I am not boasting about what I'm doing, quite the opposite this is to show even in Lockdown we can remain fit given enough dedication and is there to encourage others to take inspiration in a warm and safe enviroment as Gyms have been closed so many times in the last 11 months.

Oh, I don't seem them as boasting at all. If I'd achieved those stats, I would be proud to keep posting them too!! :)

Maybe I should start a thread for the number of units of alcohol consumed.

Gyms may be closed but people can still cycle outdoors against real resistances and inclines and consume real calories proportional to the real effort expended.

64 consecutive posts must be a record though.

Yeah, I'm surprised no one jumped in to cheer him along sooner!

Was going to have a day off today but after dumping the first load of vinyl flooring, underlay and carpet at the local tip and reloading for tomorrow's second run thought I would get to 39,000 calories at least which was passed at 63 minutes and 27km and will update later. Over 800 have viewed my efforts so far @J.R.so if only 10% get some inspiration to get on a bike then that will feel like real success. Easy for spectators to comment from the sidelines when they are not the ones sweating.

Realised why I had been sweating so much since the laminate flooring was completed last Thursday. Having moved the bike into the family bathroom on a temporary basis when it got moved back into the bedroom I must have turned the tensioner knob from 4 to 5 making it harder to pedal for the last 177km LOL. Now turned back to setting 4 went past 40,000 calories after 48 minutes and 20km this morning. Wife insisted I jump on the scales because of my flat tummy and was shocked to see I am now 14 stone exactly or 89kg which means I have lost 9kg or 1 stone 6lbs in just over a year. To say I'm happy :) would be a gross understatement. Next target 85kg by end of 2021.

Had a busy day with a 2.4 mile walk to the shops (6,000 steps) , second carpet dumping trip to the local tip, cleaned both cars for the first time since December and managed 38km in 1 hour 30 minutes so the Day 53 totals are 70 hours 30 minutes and 1,765km. Being on holiday helps with 215km in the last 5 days as well.

Went past 41,000 calories after 60 minutes and 26km with update to follow later.
