New recall

Featured Replies

Might be worth you checking skoda recall on website as mines been in since friday for seat repair, had a call they keeping an extra day as appears they have a recall for software update, thought be worth mentioning incase yours is on the list.

I also checked the website and entered vin and says they have a recall so not just dealer saying

What’s wrong with the seats? I’d be a little cautious about putting mine in for a software update as I’ve not had any issues, although that seems unusual compared to most on here.

Do you have a website link so I can check mine please?

Watch Skoda UK.

Sometimes they forget to tell the DVSA.    Sometimes they do not actually contact Registered Keepers as they should as the DVLA give them the contact information of registered keepers.

Owners should not need to find out about recalls on the social media / forums.

Recall, Recall Action, Service Campaign and Skoda Secret Service Service Campaign gets lost in the translation from German to Czech to English.

passenger seat was making a lot of noise, turned out to be a faulty bracket holding seat or something, its had to go to volkswagon as our local skoda shut and went to them, i must say the service has been very shocking compared to skoda, even resulting to a massive complaint due to someone there hitting the mirror ans causing damage and not even letting me know!

Thank you.

I like the look of Octavia IV but there seem to be plenty of glitches right now.

Plenty starting to become available now by the looks of Autotrader. I will probably go with a plain SE without a digital cockpit.

i prefer the digital cockpit

Glitches / Snagging faults, but the cars were released for delivery because Skoda / VW want the cars registered and counted into getting the lower Average Co2 g/km that they need to save paying penalties / fines.

So inconvenience the customers.   Be sure to ask for the expenses of trips back and fore to the dealership to get matter rectified.

VW Group UK will no doubt be wanting tax breaks from HMRC UK just like they got with the Emissions Cheat when they had to spend money to deal with an issue of their making.

never knew you could claim expenses back lol, ill give that ago

and yeah i bet they will

You can not, but it needs to be a trend that owners start.

Borrow their demonstrator or courtesy car and keep it until your vehicle is all sorted.

In the past when Dealership have been incompetent people have invoiced them for their expenses, hourly rate, hire car if no courtesy car provided.

People & the Car Magazines will eventually get to know VW Group & other manufacturers have taken the pith releasing vehicles that were not 'Fit for purpose' at the time of sale,

They need hit in the pocket.

So my car needs a recall according to the skoda website (though no indication of what it's for) but not according to the gov website. I guess that means it's probably not safety related.

I wonder if it's going to fix my kph/mph or Active matrix lights issues...

Thanks for the links.  My car comes up as needing the recall. I have called my dealer and am awaiting a call back from them.

Mine does too, but as I’ve had no issues I might wait for a while.

Have been in to the Dealer today. The Service Manager didn't seem to be aware of the recall. He looked it up and, not surprisingly , it is a sofware update. This could take 4 hours!  Must be quite an update! My car is now booked in for Monday 14th.

was a bit disappointed lol expected something new at least aha

I went to the dealership on Wednesday 2-12-20 Just as they were handing the keys over a manager came along and apologised saying they could not hand my car over as they had just had an emergency recall come through. He was not sure of the exact details as they were still checking the details but believed it was due to a software issue associated with the speed sensors. They delivered the car back to me on Friday 4-12-20 I have not had any issues so hopefully it has been sorted.

Interesting, just phoned up and I have two on my 2.0 SE L First Edition. Some sort of plastic cover and the software update that everyone seems to be getting. In for next week and loan car booked. Didn't have to ask for the loan car, they sorted it.

Well today I had 11 software updates! I was told there were 7 (97eq I suppose) but there were 11. Apparently one was to fix high beam assist which I had reported as not working properly. Otherwise I have no idea of what was updated.

As to km / m .... no change!
