Limp mode, no boost, no codes, wont rev over 2250rpm

How can the internal passages of an intercooler get blocked?

Running without an air filter or with supposed free flow one?

Turbo blow up throwing oil everywhere?

Long term turbo seal leakage?

I have often found oil residue in the charge cooler piping at the lowest points.

I am really pleased that you have found a resaonably priced solution after all this time!

The penny has dropped, its an air to water intercooler!

Could this be the result of a ruptured silkat bag?

Does the heater function properly?

I'd like to know what the charge air cooler has been blocked with.

Is this an EA288 engine that has the water cooled charge air cooler ?

What is the engine code ?

its clha engine and yes its a water cooled "charge cooler".

got it back today and forgot how nippy it is, it failed its mot on drop links, cv boot both easy fixes but does anyone know exactly where the crash sensor is on front of car as my airbag light is on and failed on it.

so happy its back to normal performance.

thank you to everyone's input on this problem

it was blocked with heavy deposit of soot that could not be cleaned, possibly from turbo which u replaced during this debacle

So guess it must me an EA288 engine, where the EGR gas is taken after the DPF ( should be clean ), before being injected back into the inlet before the charge cooler.

Soot has blocked the charge cooler, which suggests there may be a problem with the DPF passing soot through, which it shouldn't do.

The whole purpose of it is to trap the soot & burn it off at intervals.

I would keep a close eye on the cars performance, & at the first sign of any further problem, have another look at the charge cooler in case it is full of soot again.

All I wanted for Christmas.....2010 1.6 CR Octavia dpf warning light...glowplug flashing.....engine refs limited to 2500rpm...VAGDPF shows Oil Ash at 54.47g....OBDEleven shows Particulate Filter Regeneration Duration hard fault.

"Service regeneration during driving" initiated via OBDEleven adaption menu and car revs freely through all gears while driving.....

Take it out of service mode and car returns to limp mode.

With an Ash Level that high i guess its time for a new DPF. Anyone had their dfp replaced...one with a "Type Approval" non OEM component? Dont really want to go to a Skoda dealer and get ripped off, would rather give my custom to a local independant garage.
