Wheel size

Featured Replies

Hi

I have search for the answer in this forum and online. But I have not gotten a definitive answer, so I hope you can help me.

I have just acquired a Skoda Fabia mk2 from 2011. It is equipped with 195/55 r15 tyres. In the deal I got a set of 165/70 r14 winter tyres. But now I do not know if they will fit?

On https://www.wheel-size.com/size/skoda/fabia/2011/#trim-16tdi-eudm-89 it says the 14” is OEM as well as the 15” But in this post

So, to sum it up, can I use the 14” wintertyres for my Fabia?

Best regards

Mathias

Of course you can use the tyres as long as you have a set of14" wheels to put them on.

Well, they are already mounted on a set of wheels.

Thank you for the answer.

The tyres will not fit direct to rims, but earlier 14  inch rims will be ok, but check wheel studs config I'm not 100% sure but i thought the 14 inch rims were 4 stud holes and the 15 inch were 5 stud holes, you also have to consider by fitting smaller rims it will effect your gearing and fuel usage

It's a set with both tyres and rims.

I have attached a picture from the fuel cap, the info on there is what made me wonder if they would fit.IMG_20201211_115423.thumb.jpg.f4412bae19a3fc2554da66a39822d3a0.jpg

The rims are with 5 stud holes and ET 35

The rimes are both smaller and slimmer. But, as long as they are the same kind as the OEM I recon they will work just as good?

Narrow tyres are best in rain, snow and ice so they'll be just fine.

165/70R14 tyres fitted to 5Jx14 ET35 5/112 57.1 rims are a standard fit on the Fabia MK2.

You can also fit 185/65R14 tyres to these rims if your country's laws allow it. The outside diameter of 185/65R14 tyres is the same as 195/55R15 and 205/45R16, but the ride is much more comfortable, and they are a much cheaper tyre size.
